Since 2020 I have been part of the team of AniCura Haaglanden in Rijswijk. After graduating, I started working in the Emergency Department within the clinic. I was then given the opportunity to delve deeper and deeper into dermatology: first as an intern, then as a dermatology intern and in 2023 I started my three-year European specialist training (residency) in dermatology. In July 2026, I successfully completed this training and became a European specialist (Diplomate ECVD).

My passion for dermatology lies mainly in helping animals with chronic skin problems and itching. It gives me great satisfaction to look for the cause of the complaints together with the owner and eventually find a treatment with which an animal can go through life comfortably and preferably itch-free.

Dermatology is sometimes an underestimated field. However, owners of animals with allergies or chronic skin and ear problems know how big an impact this can have on their pet's quality of life. That is precisely why I think it is important not only to treat the skin condition, but also to look closely at the comfort and well-being of the animal.

During my consultations, I also pay a lot of attention to a clear and extensive explanation. Chronic skin problems often require a long-term approach and I believe that we achieve the best results when veterinarian and owner really work together as a team.

In my spare time, I like to be found in the kitchen cooking and baking. In addition, I enjoy cycling to the beach with my boyfriend and our dachshund Frida with the cargo bike. We prefer to get a nice croissant on the way, which we eat on the beach — with Frida of course making sure that at least one crumb is left for her.
